About The Gilgit Baltistan's Goodwill Movement
Gilgit-Baltistan's Goodwill Movement (GBGM) is a pioneering organization dedicated to advocating for the rights and improving the lives of persons with disabilities in Gilgit Baltistan. Founded in 2019 by Ghulam Muhammad Baig, a graduate with cerebral palsy, GBGM arose as a response to the urgent challenges faced by the disabled community during the COVID-19 pandemic. With a mission to raise public awareness, GBGM aims to establish a reliable database of individuals with disabilities and provide various forms of support to enhance their voices and visibility.
The organization is committed to creating inclusive opportunities through skills development centers and serves as a platform for youth volunteers to engage with and uplift the differently-abled community. GBGM actively collaborates with local authorities to promote educational and employment initiatives for disabled persons while fostering a culture of disability inclusion in Gilgit Baltistan. Through its efforts, GBGM not only champions advocacy but also empowers individuals, ensuring they receive recognition and support within their communities.
