About GBS10 Drone Safety System
Galaxy Ballistic System, developed by Galaxy GRS, provides parachute-based safety systems for unmanned aerial vehicles. Drawing on the company’s more than 30 years of experience in safety and rescue systems, its GBS10 system is designed to help recover a UAV or its payload in critical situations. A pyrotechnic gas generator ejects the parachute in less than 200 milliseconds, with the canopy fully opening within the next 800 milliseconds; the system is designed to operate from a rescue height of around five metres.
The standard GBS10 supports UAVs with a maximum take-off weight of 3 to 120 kilograms and speeds up to 300 km/h. It can be upgraded with Galaxy GRS features for applications up to 2,400 kilograms and 360 km/h. Tested to RTCA/DO-160 environmental conditions, it is designed to function in temperatures from -40°C to 70°C and humidity up to 95%. Weighing less than two percent of maximum take-off weight, it connects via CAN Bus or PWM and can use UAV power or an external battery.
