Château Durfort-Vivens

G&C Lurton is the wine-growing venture of Gonzague and Claire Lurton, descendants of established winemaking families in the Médoc. Bringing Bordeaux heritage together with a forward-looking approach, they manage historic estates in Bordeaux and the Acaibo vineyard in California’s Sonoma region. Their properties include Château Durfort-Vivens, Château Ferrière, Château Haut-Bages Libéral, Château La Gurgue and Acaibo, producing wines that express the character of their respective terroirs.

A central commitment of the family is to organic and biodynamic viticulture. Since the early 2000s, they have worked to transition their vineyards to more sustainable practices, encourage soil biodiversity and incorporate agroecological methods, including planting trees and hedges. Their approach combines traditional vineyard and cellar expertise with precision viticulture and considered ageing.
