The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy

GCCF, known as the UK's premier cat registration body, is dedicated to providing extensive information and expertise to help individuals choose, care for, and breed cats. With a focus on responsible ownership, GCCF assists prospective cat owners in selecting the right breed, whether it's the tiny Singapura or the large Maine Coon, ensuring that the chosen pet aligns with their lifestyle. They offer valuable advice on acquiring kittens, whether through reputable breeders or rescue organizations, while ensuring new pet parents are equipped with essential knowledge for a smooth transition.

GCCF emphasizes the importance of ongoing care, including neutering, pet insurance, and health management, helping all cats lead happy, healthy lives. The organization also supports integrity in breeding practices and educates owners on the responsibilities that come with this commitment. Through resources on health, welfare, and community support, GCCF fosters a compassionate environment for cats and their owners throughout the UK
