GCDAMP

The Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Program (GCDAMP) is a collaborative initiative aimed at preserving the natural ecosystem of the Colorado River, significantly influenced by the operation of Glen Canyon Dam. This program brings together various stakeholders, including members of the Adaptive Management Work Group and science advisors, to protect native species, cultural resources, and recreational experiences related to the Grand Canyon. GCDAMP focuses on a comprehensive approach that addresses critical areas such as water quality, sediment management, and the preservation of native fish species like the Humpback Chub.

With a dedication to adaptive ecosystem management, the program seeks to balance ecological health with the economic benefits of hydropower. Through the sharing of information and extensive research initiatives, GCDAMP works to honor the cultural and spiritual significance of the Grand Canyon while safeguarding its biodiversity for future generations. By fostering partnerships among federal, state, and tribal agencies, GCDAMP strives to enhance the integrity and sustainability of this national treasure
