Grayson Collin EC, also known as Grayson-Collin Electric Cooperative, has been dedicated to providing exceptional service at the most affordable cost for over 80 years. Founded in 1937 as a response to the Rural Electrification Act, their goal is to bring electricity to rural homes and farms that were previously in darkness. Recognizing the need for electricity regardless of the refusal of Investor Owned Utilities, the government formed the Rural Electrification Administration, which allowed farmers and ranchers to come together and borrow money to start their own electric cooperative.

GCEC emerged as a result of this initiative, with an unofficial meeting in Celina and its incorporation in 1937. Since then, GCEC has consistently strived to serve its members in the best possible way.
