About Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees
GCIR (Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees) is a national network of funders dedicated to expanding opportunities and addressing challenges faced by immigrant, refugee, and their communities. With over 33 years of experience, GCIR plays a vital role in mobilizing philanthropy to promote immigrant justice and belonging. Guided by their vision of a society where everyone thrives regardless of where they were born, GCIR works with more than 140 member institutions and 1,200 individual grantmakers to advance immigrant justice and belonging.
They provide thought leadership and expertise through briefings, publications, consultations, and convenings, connecting funders across the country to maximize their impact through coordinated and collaborative grantmaking. GCIR's major areas of work include the California Immigrant Integration Initiative (CIII), Delivering on the Dream (DOTD), and the California Dignity for Families Fund (CDFF), which have collectively mobilized hundreds of millions of dollars to support immigrant and refugee communities. With a commitment to love, solidarity, dignity, power, and abundance, GCIR envisions a just, equitable, and inclusive society for all
