GDC MACHADOS

Grupo Desportivo e Cultural de Machados is a community sports and cultural club established in 1990. Guided by the motto “Our colours, our motto: we are neither better nor worse, we are who we are,” the organisation works to develop sport and culture through activities, events and opportunities for local participation. Its sporting programmes include women’s senior and junior futsal, men’s senior futsal, football and pétanque, supported by club facilities that include a headquarters and football ground. The club also organises youth football tournaments, including the António Rosa Under-15 tournament.

Cultural and community activities are a central part of its work. These include summer festivals, Charolas music gatherings, poetry meetings, a library and a Christmas nativity display. Its events calendar has also featured classic car and vintage moped gatherings, golf buggy meet-ups, a rally paper and celebrations marking the club’s anniversary. The organisation offers a room for meetings, workshops, conferences and events. Membership and community support help the club continue its sporting and cultural activities.
