Der GdW Bundesverband deutscher Wohnungs- und Immobilienunternehmen vertritt als größter deutscher Branchendachverband bundesweit und auf europäischer Ebene rund 3.000 kommunale, genossenschaftliche, kirchliche, privatwirtschaftliche, landes- und bundeseigene Wohnungsunternehmen. Sie bewirtschaften rd. 6 Mio. Wohnungen, in denen über 13 Mio. Menschen wohnen. Der GdW repräsentiert damit Wohnungsunternehmen, die fast 30 Prozent aller Mietwohnungen in Deutschland bewirtschaften.
