Geburtshaus Eilenriede

Geburtshaus Eilenriede is a birth centre and midwifery practice in Hannover, Germany, supporting families who seek an out-of-hospital birth in a safe, personal setting with trained midwives. Established in 2004 as the first birth centre in Hannover and the surrounding region, it focuses on natural, self-determined childbirth and attentive care throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Its experienced, multidisciplinary team includes midwives and practitioners with backgrounds in naturopathy, physiotherapy, DELFI® classes and yoga. Services and courses cover pregnancy care, birth support, nutrition, exercise and yoga, acupuncture, and telephone advice. The practice also offers information evenings for prospective families and events such as a baby brunch focused on introducing complementary foods, including both traditional purées and baby-led weaning.

The centre’s philosophy emphasizes equality, openness, personal autonomy, medical competence and a trusting atmosphere. It values direct communication and individual contact, aiming to understand each family’s circumstances and address potential complications early. Geburtshaus Eilenriede shares updates through its blog and social media and welcomes enquiries by phone or email.
