About GECCP
The Grupo de Estudos de Cancro da Cabeça e Pescoço (GECCP) is a Portuguese group dedicated to advancing knowledge and clinical practice in head and neck cancer. Affiliated with the European Head and Neck Society (EHNS), it brings together healthcare professionals and specialists to support scientific exchange, professional education, and multidisciplinary discussion. GECCP organizes national symposia, practical discussion sessions, and other events, including its 16th National Symposium, scheduled to take place in person at the Portuguese Oncology Institute of Coimbra on 25 and 26 September 2026.
The group also provides educational articles about the disease, its warning signs and risk factors, diagnosis, treatment options, supportive care, and rehabilitation. Through awareness campaigns and patient stories, GECCP highlights the importance of prevention, routine consultations, and early diagnosis.
