The story behind Gecko began when Nicolette, feeling burnt out and disconnected from yoga, turned to her practice for solace.

Realizing the lack of knowledge about the materials and production of her yoga mat, she embarked on a mission to find something better. Living in Portugal, she discovered the versatility of cork, a renewable and non-slip material. This led her to start Gecko, with its flagship product being the Original Gecko Cork Yoga Mat.
