GEDENKDIENST is a renowned organization dedicated to promoting remembrance and education. As a state-recognized association, GEDENKDIENST has been sending committed individuals to countries where crimes were committed during the Nazi dictatorship and collaborating states, where survivors of Nazi persecution still live or where refugees fled. GEDENKDIENST offers the opportunity to serve as a Gedenkdienst volunteer at memorial sites, research centers, educational institutions, and care facilities related to National Socialism and the Holocaust.
Since 2016, Gedenkdienst has been open to all individuals equally, in accordance with the Volunteering Act. Zivildienst obligation holders can also count Gedenkdienst as an alternative civilian service. Join us for our upcoming informational evening on Thursday, June 22, 2023.
