Geelong and Surfcoast Veins

Geelong & Surfcoast Veins is a specialist clinic focused on the assessment and treatment of leg veins and venous conditions. Founded by Dr Katie Cook and Dr Lucy McKinnon, long-time friends and colleagues who met as junior doctors at Geelong Hospital, the clinic serves patients in a relaxed, professional environment. Its team includes doctors, a sonographer, nursing and reception staff, a nurse practice manager and a dermal clinician.

The clinic assesses concerns including spider and varicose veins, foot and ankle veins, swollen legs, chronic venous disease, venous ulcers, vulval veins and restless legs. It also offers care for poikiloderma, facial veins, redness and rosacea. Treatments include direct-vision and ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, endovenous thermal ablation, ambulatory phlebectomy, conservative management, vascular laser and Laser Genesis.

Care begins with a free telehealth consultation, followed by vascular ultrasound and an in-person medical assessment. Patients receive an individual treatment plan, cost breakdown and follow-up appointments. Procedures generally take 30 to 60 minutes, with guidance on compression, walking and aftercare.
