G.E.F.

The Gilbert Education Foundation (GEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2001 to support the Gilbert Public School District in Arizona. Its mission is to enrich, support, and promote innovation for district students and teachers, strengthening educational opportunities across the community.

GEF offers scholarships to graduating seniors to help them attend college or pursue trade training, and scholarships for educators seeking to develop their skills and further their education. The foundation also supports classroom technology and STEAM projects, curriculum, and district-wide enrichment. Past initiatives have included therapy dogs, guest speakers, after-school programs, art fairs, and educational materials. Its S.H.A.N.E. program provides social services to at-risk families and district employees, while the Varsity Letter in Volunteerism program encourages student community engagement.

Community members can support GEF through donations, volunteering, sharing expertise, helping review scholarship applications, and assisting at events held during the school year. The foundation serves a district that enrolls an average of 32,000 students and employs more than 4,500 people. It welcomes inquiries by phone or email.
