GEF FARM

GEF Farm is an innovative program dedicated to transforming agricultural practices for a sustainable future. With a multi-country initiative backed by a budget of $379 million, GEF Farm focuses on reducing the reliance on harmful agrochemicals and plastics, thus ensuring healthier ecosystems and communities. Under the administration of esteemed organizations such as the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), GEF Farm operates across seven countries, including Ecuador, India, and Vietnam.

The program not only champions the reduction of over 51,000 tonnes of hazardous pesticides and 20,000 tonnes of plastic waste but also emphasizes the development of inclusive financial solutions, aiming to equip farmers and stakeholders with the knowledge and resources to adopt safer agricultural practices. By facilitating policy changes, enhancing financial investments, and building capacity throughout the agrifood value chains, GEF Farm strives to protect biodiversity and improve the well-being of millions, creating a business case for sustainable agriculture that balances profit with planet-friendly practices.
