Tokyo University of the Arts Museum is the university museum of Tokyo University of the Arts, Japan’s national university specializing in comprehensive arts education and research. Its 2026 exhibition, “The Geidai Way of Seeing Art: Become an Art Student This Summer,” invites visitors to explore art through the perspective of a student. The exhibition is structured as 12 lectures led by current university faculty, presented in the museum as an engaging learning experience.

Topics span art history, practical techniques, expression, appreciation, materials, and conservation, with works from the university’s distinguished collection serving as teaching materials. Visitors can also watch current students demonstrate the art of copying, take part in interactive displays, and join workshops designed for a broad audience, from children to adults. Held at the university museum in Ueno Park from July 24 to September 23, 2026, the exhibition is the first in a series planned to run each summer from 2026 through 2028.
