G.E.L.A. Parma is the Legambiente volunteer ecological guards group serving the Parma area. It brings together local citizens who freely contribute their time to environmental protection, public information, prevention and ecological monitoring. The group promotes awareness of environmental laws and supports efforts to safeguard the environment, including checking compliance and reporting violations of specific environmental regulations within the scope of its members’ official appointments.

G.E.L.A. also provides information about the role and responsibilities of volunteer ecological guards, relevant legislation, service rules and guidance for excursions. Its website shares news, press releases, photographs and videos, and explains how people can join. Becoming a guard involves completing a training course and examination, receiving the required prefectural and regional appointments, taking an oath and joining the Parma group. These steps authorize volunteers to carry out their duties in an official capacity. Through collective action and community engagement, G.E.L.A. encourages respect for the environment and helps connect residents with practical opportunities to support local environmental stewardship.
