Een geleidehond draagt bij tot de integratie van blinde of slechtziende personen in onze maatschappij. De hond geeft hen de mogelijkheid zich zelfstandiger, sneller, meer ontspannen, maar vooral veiliger te verplaatsen.

The Belgian Guide Dog Centre (Belgisch Centrum voor Geleidehonden, or BCG) is a nonprofit organisation that has trained guide dogs for people with visual impairments since 1990. Its mission is to help people move through daily life more safely, independently and confidently, and to participate more fully in society.
BCG breeds and trains guide dogs and provides them to users free of charge. It also supports people as they learn to work with their dogs, and offers ongoing follow-up and care for both the dog and its handler. The organisation additionally provides assistance dogs for activities of daily living. Volunteer foster families play an essential role, caring for puppies and other dogs and helping them develop foundational skills before formal training.
Based in Tongeren-Borgloon, BCG relies on the support of volunteers, donors and partners to sustain its work. People can contribute through donations, volunteering, fostering a puppy, fundraising initiatives or leaving a legacy.
