About GELSENZENTRUM
Andreas Jordan is a brand that focuses on preserving and documenting the history of Gelsenkirchen during the National Socialist period from 1933 to 1945. As a non-profit organization for regional cultural and contemporary history, they are dedicated to educating the public about the impact of this dark period in history. One of their ongoing projects is the Stolperstein-Geschichten book project.
Currently, there are 319 Stolpersteine (stumbling stones) in Gelsenkirchen that memorialize the lives of individuals who were victims of exclusion, persecution, expulsion, and murder during the National Socialist era. In addition to the Stolpersteine, there is also a Stolperschwelle (stumbling threshold) that commemorates forced laborers. Andreas Jordan aims to document the life and suffering of these individuals in a comprehensive book.
To finance the printing costs, they have partnered with the Weimarer Eckhaus-Verlag and are seeking sponsors. These sponsors have the opportunity to contribute a foreword to the book and have their company logo mentioned in the appendix. The books will then be distributed free of charge to schools.
Join Andreas Jordan in supporting this vital project and help ensure the realization of the Stolperstein-Geschichten book. Together, we can honor the memory of those who suffered and promote a deeper understanding of our shared history
