Op 1 januari 2019 zijn we gefuseerd met de 3 gemeenten Aalburg, Werkendam en Woudrichem. Altena is een veelzijdige en jonge gemeente op de grens van Noord-Brabant, Zuid-Holland en Gelderland. Een prachtig gebied met groen, water, innovatieve landbouw, ondernemerschap en de op één na grootste binnenvaarthaven van Nederland. We zijn een ambitieuze gemeente. De vraagstukken voor het landelijke gebied zijn groot, daarom investeren we in nog meer kwaliteit en versterking van onze organisatie. De komende jaren gaan we een paar duizend woningen bouwen, de A27 verbreden, de binnenhaven uitbreiden én willen we een duurzame en natuurinclusieve gemeente zijn.
