Gem Secrets

Gem Secrets is a mobile jewelry appraisal service serving clients in San Diego and surrounding areas, including Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties, as well as New Mexico and Las Vegas. Its appraiser, Michael Rogers, is a Graduate Gemologist who provides jewelry evaluations at clients’ homes or offices, typically completing appraisals in front of them while they watch.

Services include insurance appraisals using replacement value, estate and probate valuations based on fair market value, and assessments for divorce-related asset division or jewelry liquidation. Gem Secrets also offers consultations for people considering a jewelry purchase, including verbal evaluations and identification of jewelry and gemstones. The business provides expert witness testimony for litigation involving jewelry disputes and diamond switching.

Appraisal reports include a detailed item description and digital photograph. When appropriate, they may also include a diamond grading report with a plot of diamonds over half a carat. Gem Secrets shares examples of recently appraised pieces, including diamond engagement and wedding rings, gemstone jewelry, and watches.
