Genetics & Applications (G&A) is the official journal of the Institute for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Sarajevo. This open-access international journal is published twice a year in both print and online formats. G&A focuses on publishing peer-reviewed articles that present novel and significant discoveries in the fields of basic and applied genetics.

The journal covers a wide range of topics, including molecular genetics, cytogenetics, plant genetics, animal genetics, human genetics, medical genetics, forensic genetics, population and evolutionary genetics, conservation genetics, genomics and functional genomics, genetic engineering and biotechnology, and bioinformatics. G&A encourages authors to submit complete, original works that have not been published elsewhere. The journal aims to gather and disseminate fundamental knowledge in all areas of genetics.
