Gender Dynamix (GDX) is a pioneering public benefit organization based in Africa that is dedicated to advancing transgender and gender diverse human rights. Established in 2005, GDX has grown from a grassroots organization to an institutionalized nonprofit organization that plays a fundamental role in the development of the trans and gender diverse movement in South Africa and across the continent. With a strong track record of over 13 years, GDX focuses on understanding the diverse needs and experiences of trans and gender diverse individuals.

The organization is committed to principles such as self-identification, inclusivity, transparency, and accountability. GDX works towards empowering trans and gender diverse persons to realize their autonomy and contribute to nation-building. GDX is actively involved in legal reform, inclusive education, and access to gender affirming healthcare.

Through research, advocacy, and training, the organization aims to raise visibility and create positive change. GDX also supports the emergence of trans-led organizations and collaborates with diverse LGBTIQ stakeholders in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. With a regional mandate, GDX provides technical assistance, organizational development, and capacity enhancement support to organizations in southern Africa.
