Filae.com

Filae is a French genealogy service that helps people investigate their family history and build a family tree online. Users can start a tree for free, search for individuals or records by source, and import an existing tree in GEDCOM format. The site also offers access to shared family trees, allowing members to draw on other subscribers’ research as they trace their ancestors.

Filae brings together a broad collection of French genealogical records and historical sources. These include digitized civil registrations from across France, covering 1792 through the early twentieth century; parish registers from 1700 to the French Revolution; and census lists from 1872 and 1906. Its collections also feature military archives, records related to pensions, naturalizations, decorations and patents, and reconstructed Paris marriage records from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Genealogical records compiled by more than 60 regional associations are available alongside millions of shared trees. Filae offers a Premium subscription to support deeper research, as well as subscription gifting and association discounts.
