Geneachtimi is a free French genealogy website created in 2005 and managed by the Geneachtimi association. It brings together a large community of family-history researchers, offering tools and resources to help members discover ancestors, organize family trees, and share knowledge. Users can build an online tree with the MAEL tool or import an existing tree using the GEDCOM format. The site’s genealogy database includes member-submitted family trees, millions of ancestor records, surname information, and a map showing the geographic distribution of surnames in France.

Geneachtimi also provides access to archival resources, including links to civil and parish records, census documents, military registers, and other historical materials for northern France and nearby departments. Visitors can browse death records drawn from French national data and consult records from the Mémoire des hommes collection. Its discussion forums support research questions, transcription help, and member-to-member assistance, while practical features include research tools, genealogy news, and event information. Registration is free, and the site emphasizes community, cooperation, and accessible family-history research.
