Ahnenforschung in Deutschland is a free online community and digital resource for people researching family history, particularly in Germany and former German territories. Active since 2009 and sponsored by dilibra. com, the site combines a discussion forum with a growing collection of historical records, scans, transcriptions, maps, and genealogical literature.

Its resources cover family registers, identity documents, address and telephone books, cemetery and church records, historical maps, local chronicles, and unique collections of family documents. Members can explore regional research areas across Germany, Austria, and historic regions such as East Prussia, Silesia, Pomerania, and Bohemia, or seek help through the forum and research notices. The site also features records relating to the Rossoschka war cemetery near Volgograd, including transcriptions of soldiers’ names and information about missing personnel.

Selected materials are available as downloadable scans and eBooks; some downloads require free registration. By bringing archival sources and community knowledge together, Ahnenforschung in Deutschland helps researchers discover and document family histories
