General Day Nursery is an early-years childcare and education provider in Peasley Cross, St Helens, welcoming families since 1996. It cares for children aged from birth to five, with age-appropriate rooms and support for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. The nursery aims to offer a safe, homely environment where children can feel secure, build confidence, and learn through play.
Its child-led curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and draws on Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Froebel approaches. Children take part in activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor exploration, sports, and games, with learning tailored to their development. The nursery also prepares balanced meals on-site and can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, halal, and weaning needs.
Services include full-day, half-day, and school-day sessions, as well as a Holiday Club featuring creative activities, outdoor adventures, and trips. General Day Nursery works closely with parents through an open-door policy, stay-and-play sessions, and regular progress discussions. Its experienced staff aim to provide consistent, personalised care for children and families.
