UN Women, the United Nations entity for gender equality and the empowerment of women, is at the forefront of efforts to drive global gender equality. Through its Generation Equality Forum, UN Women has sparked a 5-year journey to accelerate ambitious action and implementation. The Forum, co-chaired by the governments of France and Mexico, brought together global leaders, civil society, youth, and various stakeholders to generate $40 billion in financial commitments and multiple policy and program commitments.

The Forum's ambitious action agenda is driven by multi-stakeholder Action Coalitions, which have developed a Global Acceleration Plan to advance gender equality. The Forum launched a 5-year action journey to achieve irreversible progress towards gender equality, with a focus on concrete, ambitious, and transformative actions. It fuels a powerful coalition for gender equality and aims to ensure that gender remains at the center of the post-COVID agenda.

Through Action Coalitions, a Compact on Women, Peace and Security and Humanitarian Action, and a bold feminist agenda, the Forum aims to deliver tangible progress towards gender equality during the UN Decade of Action. The Generation Equality Forum represents a vital moment for activists, feminists, youth, and allies to achieve transformative change for generations to come
