The Kazakhstan Society of Geneticists and Breeders (KOGiS) is a professional community that brings together researchers and practitioners to advance genetics, genomics, breeding, and scientific collaboration. The society supports research across human and medical genetics, plant and animal breeding, biodiversity conservation, and bioinformatics, while promoting education, mentoring, and open scientific communication.

KOGiS offers scientific services for researchers and projects, including grant and publication support, data analysis, bioinformatics, genotyping, DNA and RNA extraction, sequencing, PCR analysis, biobanking, and diagnostic kit development. Its broader service catalogue also covers areas such as metagenomics, proteomics, metabolomics, ancient DNA analysis, and CRISPR/Cas genome editing, alongside training and courses.

The society organizes conferences, seminars, webinars, and lectures, and provides a forum for members and colleagues. It publishes Contig, a peer-reviewed, open-access journal covering genetics, genomics, and breeding; articles receive DOIs. Through membership, events, publications, and research support, KOGiS connects the scientific community in Kazakhstan and beyond.
