Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship Program is dedicated to providing scholarships to deserving students of all ages to help them overcome the financial obstacle of pursuing higher education. Established in 2001, this merit-based program does not consider financial need, allowing students to have complete control over their applications. The selection process is carried out by an independent panel of judges who primarily assess the quality of the personal statement submitted by applicants.

Unlike other programs, past academic performance, such as grades and standardized test scores, are not taken into account. The aim is to create a level playing field, ensuring that students are not given advantages or disadvantages based on their financial or academic circumstances. Founded by Gen and Kelly Tanabe, renowned authors of admission and scholarship books, who themselves were accepted into all the Ivy League colleges and graduated from Harvard debt-free, this program reflects their expertise and dedication to helping students achieve their educational goals.

The Tanabes have been featured as expert sources in various esteemed publications, and they also tour nationally, sharing their college planning insights and strategies. Stay up-to-date with scholarship news and secrets by subscribing to their monthly newsletter
