Geoff Goodfellow

Geoff Goodfellow is an Australian poet, prose writer, performer and public speaker whose work draws on the lived experiences of working people and explores the realities of working-class life. With more than three decades of writing experience and extensive national and international engagement, he presents poetry and stories that address social issues without romanticising hardship. His work considers subjects including employment, poverty, family relationships, violence, addiction, mental health, imprisonment and resilience.

Goodfellow offers poetry and prose writing workshops for schools, colleges and other institutions, as well as performances of his work. His life-writing workshops encourage participants to find and tell their own stories, while poetry workshops explore challenging personal and social themes. He also speaks at conferences, corporate events, legal offices and staff development sessions, with talks that include motivational subjects and men’s issues.

His published work includes Blight Street, a verse novella, and he provides study guides and educational resources. Through writing, workshops and live presentations, Goodfellow uses language to engage diverse audiences and encourage reflection, expression and learning.
