Geokring Den Bosch, formally Stichting Geologische Kring Den Bosch, is a community for people interested in minerals, fossils and rocks, with a strong emphasis on friendly social connections. Based in ’s-Hertogenbosch, the group brings members together to learn about geology and explore it firsthand.
The Geokring holds regular monthly gatherings on the second Tuesday of the month at Sociaal Cultureel Centrum De Helftheuvel. These evenings usually feature a guest speaker presenting on a geological subject. The club also organizes field trips to quarries and other locations in the Netherlands and abroad, where participants can search for minerals and fossils themselves. It aims to arrange three or four day trips each year, as well as one multi-day excursion; many outings are open to children.
People can support the foundation and take part by becoming donors. Annual contributions are €20 for an individual or €30 for two or more people, such as a family.
