George Sculpteur

George is a French visual artist and sculptor whose bronze and steel works explore female figures in metamorphosis, poised between human form and foliage. Working from her studio in Tourrettes-sur-Loup on the French Riviera, she creates pieces across several collections, including Vegetal Women, Monumental Sculptures, Doodles, Steel Cut-Outs and Unfinished Colourings. Her work also extends to coloring books and editions available through her shop.

A graduate of the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, where she received the jury’s highest honours, George is one of the few artists to carry out lost-wax casting, chasing and patination herself. Her bronzes are cast at the Massimo Del Chiaro foundry in Pietrasanta. Four of her works are included in France’s cultural heritage. Her career includes participation in documenta IX in Kassel and exhibitions at the Carrousel du Louvre, as well as appearances in Dubai and China. She received the Grand Prix International d’Arts Plastiques in Akashi, Japan, and is listed on Artprice and Akoun.
