About Georgetown Law
The Georgetown Law Journal, based at Georgetown Law in Washington, D.C., is a prestigious legal publication with a rich history that dates back to its first issue in November 1912. Managed entirely by law students, the Journal has published over 500 issues, contributing significant insights into legal scholarship and practice. One of its most notable offerings is the Annual Review of Criminal Procedure (ARCP), which serves as a comprehensive review of federal criminal procedure. With an annual distribution exceeding 20,000 copies, the ARCP is a valued resource utilized by U.S. Attorneys' offices, district courts, law firms, and prison libraries nationwide.
Employing approximately 120 law students, including 60 in editorial roles, the Journal fosters hands-on experience while maintaining rigorous standards of legal scholarship. By collecting and verifying sources and performing technical edits, these students are integral to the Journal's operations. The Georgetown Law Journal not only cultivates future legal professionals but also contributes significantly to the legal community with its insightful analyses and resources.
