About Georgia DNR Wildlife
Georgia DNR Wildlife is a brand committed to conserving and promoting fishing, hunting, and wildlife resources in Georgia. As part of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, their mission is to sustain, enhance, protect, and conserve Georgia's natural, historic, and cultural resources. The Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) is one of the five divisions within DNR.
WRD is responsible for conserving, enhancing, and promoting Georgia's wildlife resources, including game and nongame animals, fish, and protected plants. Their efforts include species management and conservation programs, such as the State Wildlife Action Plan and invasive species control. WRD's Game Management Section manages over one million acres of land and Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) for various outdoor activities.
The Fisheries Management Section oversees the management of lakes, streams, and public fishing areas, ensuring high-quality sport fishing opportunities. The Wildlife Conservation Section focuses on conserving and protecting wildlife species, native plants, and their habitats through research, education, and management efforts. Georgia DNR Wildlife offers licenses, educational resources, and engages in various projects and programs to promote wildlife conservation.
By participating in their initiatives and enjoying outdoor activities responsibly, you can help protect Georgia's natural heritage for future generations
