The BRUDD Project is the fine-art photography practice of Norwegian artist Gerd Borchgrevink, whose work explores the striking forms and textures of stone quarried from landscapes shaped by human activity. Through documentary and abstract images, Borchgrevink presents granite, flint and marble formations described as around 300 million years old, inviting viewers to consider geology, cultural history and humanity’s relationship with nature. The photographs are made in quarry regions including Vestfold in Norway, Møns Klint in Denmark, Custonaci and Carrara in Italy.
The project’s collections include Carrara Marble, Winter Blues, Winter Solstice, Norway Summer and Grey, with individual works offered as limited editions. Prints are available for purchase and can be shipped worldwide or collected from Gallery DAIDDA in Oslo or the artist’s studio in Tønsberg. Borchgrevink is represented by Gallery DAIDDA and has participated in more than 20 solo and group exhibitions in Norway and internationally.
Her work has also appeared in media coverage, and the BRUDD book is held in several museum and library collections
