The Russian-German Project for the digitization of German documents aims to preserve and provide access to official archival materials from various countries, stored in the archives of the Russian Federation. Launched in collaboration between Russia and Germany, this initiative focuses on digitizing significant collections related to both World Wars, including documents from German military and intelligence services, as well as other historical records from 1912 to 1945. The online platform (germandocsinrussia.
org) serves educational and research purposes, allowing users to explore and study these documents. However, users must adhere to strict guidelines regarding the use of sensitive information, particularly personal data, ensuring that all interactions comply with Russian law. Since 2011, the project has successfully digitized about 28,000 so-called trophy files, making invaluable historical resources accessible for scholarly work and fostering greater understanding of this complex period in history
