GIAM, also known as The Gerson Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine, is the largest and most authentic resource of information on Ayurveda in the United States. Founded in 1982 by Dr. Scott Gerson, who holds degrees in both Ayurveda and conventional allopathic medicine, GIAM combines authentic Ayurveda with state-of-the-art conventional medicine. Dr. Gerson is widely regarded as a highly experienced Ayurvedic physician and researcher, specializing in diagnostically difficult cases.

Today, GIAM is located in Dunedin, Florida, and operates in association with the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (AYUSH) under the Central Government of India. The facility houses medical and administrative offices, a complete Ayurvedic herbal dispensary, a Panchakarma unit, and an Ayurvedic Spa. Dr. Scott Gerson also has an office at Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, FL.

The goals of the Gerson Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine include promoting original Ayurvedic research and working on the cultivation and regeneration of Ayurvedic medicinal plants. Dr. Gerson's current research interests lie in the metabolomic and epigenetic actions of Ayurvedic herbs and therapies in cancer and chronic diseases.

Dr. Scott Gerson's extensive educational background includes a Ph.D. in Ayurveda, a M.Phil. in Ayurveda, and a medical degree from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He has integrated Ayurveda with conventional medicine in his private medical practice since 1982, providing personalized Ayurvedic consultations and treatments to his patients. Additionally, Dr. Gerson actively supports the spread of Ayurveda worldwide through research and educational activities conducted by The Foundation for Holistic Medical Research.
