The Gertrud Rüegg Foundation is a charitable, tax-exempt foundation based in Zurich, Switzerland. Established through the final wishes of Gertrud Rüegg, it was entered in the Commercial Register of the Canton of Zurich on 12 October 1950. Rüegg, who lived from 1889 to 1949, devoted herself to the social work of the Zurich Women’s Centre, an organisation that emerged during the First World War.
She was particularly committed to the education of young women and helped drive the establishment and funding of the Casoja adult education home in Valbella/Lenzerheide, where generations of young women received training in home economics. The foundation continues her charitable legacy under a broadly defined purpose. Its website provides information about its activities and an application process for requests, alongside contact and privacy details.
The foundation is subject to federal oversight, and its annual financial statements are audited by an independent auditing body. In addition to its foundation board, it has a management team responsible for its operations
