Mit vier großen Krankenhäusern, 58 Fachkliniken, rund 2.800 Betten und über 7.500 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter gehört der Klinikverbund Gesundheit Nord zu den größten kommunalen Krankenhauskonzernen Deutschlands. Der Klinikverbund, zu dem das Klinikum Bremen-Mitte, das Klinikum Bremen-Nord, das Klinikum Bremen-Ost und das Klinikum Links der Weser gehören, hält in Bremen einen Marktanteil von ca. 60 Prozent. Mehr als 100.000 stationäre und rund 150.000 ambulante Patienten werden in den Krankenhäusern der Gesundheit Nord jedes Jahr behandelt. Die vier kommunalen Krankenhäuser der Stadt Bremen bilden unter dem Dach der Gesundheit Nord ein Gesundheitsnetzwerk, in dem gut ausgebildete Ärztinnen, Ärzte, Pflegekräfte, Therapeutinnen und Therapeuten eng zusammenarbeiten. Das Spektrum der medizinischen Leistungen reicht von der Versorgung von Unfallopfern bis zu hochspezialisierten Operationsmethoden, von der Geburtshilfe bis zur Altersmedizin, von der Transplantation bis zur Rehabilitation.
