GET FiT Zambia is a brand that is dedicated to diversifying Zambia's power mix and strengthening the Zambian power market. They aim to achieve this by encouraging private sector participation from a wider range of developers, construction firms, and financial institutions. GET FiT Zambia is also committed to boosting institutional capacity and enhancing the policy and regulatory framework for renewable energy Independent Power Producers (IPPs) in Zambia.

The program focuses on the timely procurement of 200 MW of renewable energy capacity, contributing to the diversification of Zambia's power mix while ensuring cost-reflective projects for Zambian end users. They are introducing standardized legal documentation for IPPs, promoting competition and private sector involvement, improving regulatory and licensing procedures, and conducting grid assessments to ensure successful integration of renewable energy into the national grid.

GET FiT Zambia offers a toolbox of tools and components such as competitive procurement of Solar PV and Small Hydro projects, debt and risk mitigation facilities, viability gap funding, grid facility integration, and technical assistance. They have also established a Secretariat that provides comprehensive support in the implementation of the program.

GET FiT Zambia works in partnership with various stakeholders, including the Zambian Ministry of Energy, the German development bank KfW, and international organizations such as the African Development Bank and Africa Trade Insurance.
