Gezinshuis Huiskens is a small-scale professional youth-care home in Hellevoetsluis, the Netherlands, offering a safe and supportive family setting for children and young people who cannot live at home temporarily or long term. Founded by Ronald and Ilse Huiskens, the home draws on their experience as foster parents and their work with young people in hospitality. Since 2022, they have focused fully on the family home and coaching.

The Huiskens provide round-the-clock care, guidance and upbringing within a family environment, with clear, caring boundaries and attention to each young person’s needs. Residents may have complex challenges or a history of intensive support. The home currently accommodates four girls aged 12 to 16 and has also provided temporary placements during crisis situations. Placement requires municipal approval.

Gezinshuis Huiskens works with Gezinshuis.com, which supports family homes, and holds the Keurmerk Gezinshuizen quality mark. Its approach is grounded in national quality criteria covering professional caregivers, the living environment, young people’s and parents’ positions, and transparent care.
