About GFC Friends Prague
GFC Friends Prague is a gay football team based in Prague, Czech Republic. Founded in 2008, the team grew from the gaysport. cz community and a group of newly discovered footballers who travelled to the Gay Football World Cup in London.
The name Friends Prague was first used at that tournament. GFC Friends competes in small-sided football in the Hanspaul League and takes part in tournaments in the Czech Republic and abroad. Its achievements include silver at the European football championship, four wins at the annual tournament in Hamburg, and three victories at a tournament in Munich.
The team also regularly participates in EuroGames and Gay Games. GFC Friends Prague welcomes footballers interested in joining and invites visitors to contact the team by email or through its Instagram profile. It also promotes the PRIDE CUP, encouraging people to get in touch and take part in the tournament.
Through its league play and international tournament appearances, the club offers an opportunity for LGBTQ+ footballers to compete and connect through sport
