About Ghetto Fighters' House בית לוחמי הגטאות | Lohame HaGeta'ot
Ghetto Fighters' House, also known as The House, is the world's first Holocaust museum, established by Holocaust survivors themselves. The museum tells the story of the Holocaust during World War II, but its focus lies on bravery, the triumph of the human spirit, and the incredible resilience of the survivors and fighters who rebuilt their lives in the longed-for land of Israel. Ghetto Fighters' House showcases the visionary founders' determination, as they overcame grief and horror to establish a thriving kibbutz for Holocaust survivors and the museum that operates within it.
Reflecting their vision, the museum offers visitors from Israel and around the world a unique experience that goes beyond mere sorrow and terror, demonstrating the words of Antek Zuckerman, who stated in the kibbutz's first assembly, From the walls of the ruins, we have come here to build strong walls, homes, and lives. Alongside the museum, the Humanistic Center aims to promote understanding of the Holocaust and encourage dialogue and shared learning. The center fosters cross-cultural meetings that delve into the universal and humanistic implications of the Holocaust in Israeli society and beyond.
Additionally, the Ghetto Fighters' House established the Yad L'Yeled (Hand for the Child) branch in 1995, dedicated to Holocaust education for young generations. Plan a visit to the Ghetto Fighters' House, where the extraordinary stories of strength, bravery, and hope come to life
