About GivingHope Foundation
GivingHope Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering smallholder farmers in rural Uganda to uplift themselves out of extreme poverty. With the belief that smallholder farmers are the backbone of Uganda's economy, GivingHope Foundation works towards sustainable agriculture, green energy, and mental health in order to provide innovative and affordable solutions to local challenges. Through their three focus areas, GivingHope Foundation aims to holistically transform rural communities.
They help smallholder farmers implement sustainable agriculture practices, mobilize farmers to restore and protect their ecosystems, and promote healthy living including good nutrition, mental health care, improved hygiene, and sanitation. By supporting rural communities to be resilient and adaptive to climate-related hazards and natural disasters, GivingHope Foundation addresses climate change concerns. They also promote the formation of self-help groups, providing smallholder farmers with access to small loans, financial literacy, business skills, and best agricultural practices.
