About Global Health Delivery Project at Harvard University
The Global Health Delivery Project (GHD) is an interdisciplinary collaboration between Harvard Business School, Harvard Medical School, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. GHD's mission is to support professionals dedicated to improving the delivery of value-based healthcare globally. With a focus on disease treatment and prevention, GHD investigates the management decisions behind healthcare practices worldwide.
To disseminate valuable lessons, GHD uses various channels, including case studies, educational programs, and scholarly publications. The project was founded in 2007 by Dr. Jim Y.
Kim, Dr. Paul Farmer, and Professor Michael Porter, aiming to bridge the gap between clinical knowledge and actual patient care in underserved communities. GHD's work is essential due to the urgent need for a strategic response to global health problems, as millions of preventable deaths occur each year.
Through its unique curriculum, GHD has instructed thousands of students on global health delivery, including law students and national HIV directors. Additionally, GHD has created a collection of 45 open-access teaching case studies, accompanied by teaching notes, online. The Global Health Delivery Project is a pioneering academic initiative that contributes to building the field of healthcare delivery
