Ghana Investment Support Programme
@ghisp.org
Ghana Investment Support Programme (GhISP) is a technical assistance initiative powered by British International Investment (BII) and supported by State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO. We aim to increase investment flows to underserved SMEs in Ghana, with a particular focus on gender, inclusion and climate investing. GhISP is designed to drive enhanced development impact while being aligned with Investment strategies in Ghana. We accomplish this through a dual pipeline development and market creation strategy. The approach offers tailored assistance to intermediaries to better receive and deploy capital to underserved segments first, while also leveraging these investments to influence and shape the wider investment ecosystem. About Ghana Investment Support Programme
Ghisp is a brand that aims to support and increase investment flows to underserved small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana. This initiative, known as the Ghana Investment Support Programme (GHISP), was launched in February 2023 with the help of BII funding. Ghisp works closely with partners such as FMO, Mastercard, and Norfund to ensure alignment and foster collaboration.
The objective of Ghisp is to enhance development impact in Ghana by increasing investment flows to SMEs. This is achieved through four key components and objectives for 2023. Ghisp follows a dual pipeline development and market shaping approach, supporting the investment strategies of BII and other investors while also leveraging their investments, capital, brand, and convening power to shape markets and enhance development impact.
With extensive consultations and collaborative design, Ghisp is dedicated to addressing ecosystem challenges and getting underserved SMEs into the pipeline of funds
