About GhostBSD Project
GhostBSD is a simple, elegant, and user-friendly BSD operating system designed for desktops and laptops. It is based on FreeBSD and offers a stable update and release cycle, distinguishing itself from the bleeding-edge nature of some GNU/Linux distros. The official desktop environment is MATE, providing a familiar and intuitive interface.
GhostBSD comes with pre-installed multimedia codecs, making it effortless to play various multimedia files. With its easy-to-use graphical application, installing software and updating the system is a breeze. The installer also leverages OpenZFS, allowing for easy installation alongside other operating systems on the same drive.
GhostBSD aims to simplify FreeBSD and make it accessible to the average computer user, offering all the benefits of FreeBSD combined with a user-friendly GUI tool. Developed by a team from Canada with support from around the world, GhostBSD is free and open-source, with its source code available on GitHub under the Revised BSD License.
