Ghost Pine Nursery

Ghost Pine Native Plant Nursery is a California native plant educational nonprofit based in Redding, at the northern end of the Central Valley. Its online nursery is one part of a broader range of nonprofit activities focused on supporting native plants, their habitats, and the conservation of natural resources, including water, soil, air, and wildlife. The organization locally sources and propagates California native plants, offering climate-adapted choices suited to the region’s wet winters and hot, dry summers.

By helping gardeners find native species and consider replacing lawn monocultures, Ghost Pine aims to encourage planting that can support local wildlife and natural habitats. Alongside its nursery, the organization shares educational resources through its website, including featured plants, a plant-of-the-month feature, a calendar, blog posts, and newsletters. It also lists events and other activities, helping connect the community with native gardening and conservation.

Ghost Pine is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supported by donors and supporters, serving gardeners and others interested in California’s native flora
